Last weekend I enjoyed a fun day out to Cheshire Clay Studios in Middlewich, Cheshire to see their open studio exhibition. I've been before and it's great to see the mix of work on offer from their studio potters. The studio is fairly local to me and it provides an opportunity to meet others in my area who enjoy clay in all its wondrous ways.
Special mentions should go to Liz and Lisa who run the fabulous open studio along with being coordinators for Northern Potters South West. And my sneaky purchase from Dawny Phillips in the form of a pair of stripey legs with some impressive red elf shoes on the end. These will end up travelling over to California for my girlie as a sneaky festive treat.
It was great to be introduced to the work of Jane and Peter Dixon from Dixon Studios. My mum and Tom were both equally impressed with their pieces. And it was lovely to see Babirye Gregory's work. We both studied together previously and she has a wonderful way with making critters from across the globe.
The site also has a fab coffee shop, Ginger and Pickles, along with a farm shop and a few other outlets too. All in all, we had a lovely Sunday outing on a dreary, grey autumn day.
